H.E. Mohammed Al-Shaibani - ChairmanCollapse Expand Button

The Investment Corporation of Dubai consolidates the commercial and business assets of Dubai Government. These assets are in diverse sectors, and include market leading companies in financial services, transportation, real estate, leisure and utilities. ICD has been mandated to enable the globalization and privatization of these iconic brands.H.E. Mohammed Al Shaibani is also the Chairman of Dubai Islamic Bank and National Bonds Corporation. He also serves as a Board Member of Emaar Properties, Shuaa Capital, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Limited, The Knowledge Fund and International Humanitarian City (IHC).

Since 1998, H.E. Mohammed Al Shaibani has held the position of President at the Dubai Office, a Private Management office for the Royal Family of Dubai. In this capacity he was based in London for eight years and he now oversees the functioning of this office from Dubai.

He started his professional life with the Dubai Ports Authority & Jebel Ali Free Zone where he worked for seven years. After this he moved to Singapore for four years, as Managing Director of Al Khaleej Investments.

H.E. Mohammed Al Shaibani graduated in 1988 from United States and holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

 

H.E. Khalifa AlDaboos - Vice ChairmanCollapse Expand Button

Mr. AlDaboos has 17 years’ experience in the investment sector and is holding senior positions with leading investment and financial establishments in the UAE.

He is currently the Director of Investment at the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) mandated to supervise the investment portfolio of Dubai Government. A UAE national, Mr. AlDaboos has also held the portfolio of Investment Director at Department of Finance with H.H. The Ruler’s Court, Government of Dubai and was also associated with Emirates Bank International in various treasury, foreign exchange and capital market functions. Mr. AlDaboos, who has a degree of Science in Computer Information Systems & Management Science from Metropolitan State College in Denver, is also on the boards of organizations such as Emaar Properties, HSBC Middle East Finance Company, Emirates Investment & Development PSC, Emirates Rawabi, Jeema Mineral Water PSC and M’sharie Venture Capital, among others.

 

Mr. Marwan Hassan Al Khatib - DirectorCollapse Expand Button

Mr Marwan Hassan Al Khatib is a Member of the Board for National Bonds Corporation PJSC. He is also the Managing Director of Islamic Investments at Dubai Group (Dubai Holding) and has held very senior management positions with leading investment and financial establishments in the UAE.

Mr. Al Khatib, who holds a MBA in Banking and Finance from Hull University in United Kingdom and a BA in Business Administration & Computer Science from the American University in Cairo, is also a board member and director of Bank Islam, Malaysia; the Chairman of Al Fajer Re-Takaful Company, Kuwait; the Deputy Chairman of Asia Capital Re-Takaful Company, Bahrain; and the Board Member of Asia Capital Re-Takaful Company, Malaysia.

 

Mr. Ziad Makkawi - DirectorCollapse Expand Button

Mr. Makkawi has over the last 22 years held top positions at international and regional investment banks and financial institutions, starting with JP Morgan in New York (1986) and Elf Aquitaine in Geneva (1990), then moving to the Middle East to co-found Lebanon Invest (1995), and the Middle-East Capital Group, the region's first merchant bank with a pan-Arab focus in 1996. Mr. Makkawi moved to the UAE in 2000 as Executive Managing Director of Shuaa Capital, a UAE based Investment Banking institution where he built from scratch, and ran the financial services business encompassing Capital Markets; Asset Management; Brokerage; and Research. His last position prior to founding Algebra Capital was as Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Bank, one of the UAE's youngest and most dynamic banks. At Dubai Bank he effected a turnaround of the institution and spearheaded the bank's foray into Investment Banking, Asset Management and Islamic Banking.

Ziad Makkawi is a pioneer and leader in the development of regional investment banking and asset management. He has executed a large number of investment banking transactions and launched some of the region's most innovative and successful investment funds. He has, and continues to serve on the board of many financial services companies as well as funds that are involved in both the conventional and Shari'a space.

Mr. Makkawi holds a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University, an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Management and a BA from Rice University.

 

Mr. Ghaith Al Ghaith - DirectorCollapse Expand Button

Ghaith Al Ghaith is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai's first low cost airline, flydubai. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the airline and works closely with its Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Mr Al Ghaith has a long track record in the airline industry and was previously with the Emirates Group, where he held the position of Executive Vice-President Commercial Operations Worldwide, Emirates Airline, from August 1995 until March 2008. Prior to this position he had been Senior General Manager Commercial Operations Middle East, Africa & CIS since October 1994.

Mr. Al Ghaith began his career with Emirates as a Management Trainee in December 1986. He was appointed Deputy Passenger Sales Manager UAE in June 1988 and Deputy Manager Overseas Development & Marketing in August 1989.

He became Area Manager UK and Ireland in 1991, and General Manager Commercial Operations Europe and North America in 1993.

Mr. Al Ghaith, a UAE national, was born in 1963 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, USA

Mr. Mohammed Qasim Al Ali - Chief Executive Officer Collapse Expand Button

Mr Mohamed Qasim Al Ali was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of National Bonds Corporation in January 2008. In his capacity, Mr. Al Ali spearheads the management of the company’s growing portfolio of enterprises and development of new and innovative savings initiatives.

Mr. Al Ali has over 20 years of management experience in the airline and ground handling industry, and. held many of the senior management positions at the commercial divisions within the Emirates Group. He was earlier the General Manager for UK and Ireland at Emirates Airlines and Vice President of Customer Service and Operations at Dnata, the Ground Handling Company at Dubai International Airport. He commenced his career with Emirates in 1989 as Overseas Area Manager.

Mr. Al Ali holds a graduate degree in Aviation Management obtained from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) and an IATA Diploma in Airline Management.

Profile: Mr Rochecouste comes with over 20 years experience in Banking and Insurance in South Africa, Africa, Indian Ocean and most recently the Middle East; with a track record in Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Wealth Management and Insurance.

Over the last few years he has led teams in various countries to enhance deal flows and services. Previously he was based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia working for Al Rajhi Bank and Investment Group, AGM as Head of Sales & Customer Service of the Investment Bank to drive the strategy and delivery of sales performance and services.
